Help! Can an E67 VIN be programmed into an E40 ECU?

Help! Can an E67 VIN be programmed into an E40 ECU? To make a long story short and a short story long, I swapped the chassis out of my 2008 RWD TBSS (58x) with the chassis from a 2007 AWD TBSS (24x) with the complete drivetrain, wiring, etc. Basically did an LS swap on a factory LS car. I ended up having to swap all of the interior wiring as well to get everything to plug in and run after finding out the donor 2007 truck was built late 2006 and came with a 24x LS2.
Now, my issue is: I need the 2008 E67 VIN rewritten into the 2007 E40 ECU so that I can pass emissions inspections, etc. I've had my local tuner try with HPTuners and we thought it was successful after he licensed it, did the CASE relearn, and it was reading the 2008 VIN on HPT but I plugged in another scanner and it was still reading as the 2007 VIN (for some reason with the digits not in order). I also had another guy that uses Tech2 try but he said it would trip the security system if the VINs don't match between the other modules. He didn't actually try rewriting it because he was afraid the truck wouldn't start if he did, and said if he rewrote the 2008 VIN to all the 2007 modules some functions may not work?
Is it possible for the 08 E67 VIN to be programmed to the 07 E40 ECU or am I in a bind? Thanks for reading and any helpful/knowledgeable comments
