Programming ECM & TCM
Have a 2004 Colorado 5.3 swap and looking to see what should be done for the E40 and T42 to work as if was factory like the VIN and security. Looking to be legal for State inspection (NY) which checks for DTCs and Monitors. The Donor is 2006 Envoy XL 5.3. Have CP wiring harness and their ignition switch. Right now my E40 ONLY had the VIN changed and yet still reads parts of the donor vehicle.... For example I can manually select the GMC Envoy on scan tool and can get into DTCs and all engine Data showing. I can auto ID the Truck but get no communication software apparently are crossed between the two. Currently on the path of using GM SPS2 to fix this issue. Am I on the right track? Any input would be greatly appreciated the truck is literally a hair away from being completed.
I had the the vin changed in the E40, but every time i try to get codes and data i can.t communicate with the ECM and wont pass inspection... I have Hp tuners, i have a passthru interface device just looking for the right direction to go.
Been down that road, paid to get all the correct wiring. Wired up a bench harness exactly the same as the truck pinouts with can-bus and even communicates with the original P12 PCM. I'm going with software. It connects with the GMC scans for DTCs and shows live data, will not with the truck VIN selection.
Have now a full stock 2006 GMC Envoy 5.3 xl 4wd E40, for the 2004 Colorado 5.3 I am now ready to get the VIN and necessary calibrations onto the E40 with that what is needed? Tech 2? Sps2? TIS? Thanks in advance
