Default Last emissions test in GA

In Georgia we don't need to test emissions for cars that are 25 years old - or older. My `99 TA just had it's last test yesterday! That wasn't without some work. When I scanned her prior to going for the test I had a po103 and another for the MAF. I run an SDOS tune which was the reason for that. I flashed it to a MAF tune and was quite surprise to see that all monitors were ready, except the EVAP. That's not a problem as for 1999 you can have any 2 monitor not ready.

When I flashed it back to MAF, I had to do a "write entire" due to an alert saying it was a different OS. It makes me nervous when I see that "Brickable." Did I miss something - or must you always do a "write entire" when you go back and forth? I'll be going back to the Speed Density tune soon. I can already tell that I want to go back.

When switching OS you always have to write the entire thing. You don't have to write the whole thing if you keep the OS and just do calibration changes

With the GA test you can set your dtc tables so that the readiness monitors are all immediately set and no codes show on their end without the MAF or anything else attached to the car. I know for fact you can pass with an OLSD tune and no evap or working cats. It is my understanding that a few years ago cars started being required to have "permanent" codes stored, so that would not be an option on newer vehicles. That being said, you DO have to do the scary brickable write entire to change back to the SD os now that you have already changed it once unnecessarily.

But there are internal, under the PCM cover pin grounding techniques - see You Tube - to possibly bring these bricked wheel chock PCM devices back from the dead.

To convert back to MAF only, you don’t have to do a write entire.
