I have a 2015 L83 converted to port injection with a 2012 E38 PCM and stand alone harness. All spark plugs out and cranking shows no rpm's on my HPTuners. I tried polling for parameters, that didn't work, bought a new crank sensor, didn't work, checked the input from the harness plug---it was 5 volts on both outside pins, the center pin showed 0. I did not check the middle pin for millivolts. I have a conversion pigtail from the gen 4 to gen 5 crank sensor. It checks ok. I get readings for IAT, coolant temp, voltage, kpa, etc. I can't crank it yet, got a part being repaired. Any ideas why I would not get a reading?? Thanks

 

I got a reply from another forum. One outside pin should be 5 volts, center ground, other outside pin is the output. Waiting on a call from the harness maker.
