dumb question on tuning with undersized injectors
I have an LQ9 w/ 243 heads and a elgin ss2 cam in my 02 trans am with an LS1 top end (LS6 intake, LS1 28# injectors).
Also just picked up 42# Ford green tops because I have read enough to know the 28# won't be enough for this setup.
I'm just starting to get into tuning (only have base LS1 tune) and am wondering if it's even worth it to tune the current setup to get a baseline before swapping the new injectors in, or if the injectors cause that much change that it's not even worthwhile.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

If you're going for more than about 550 HP you need the larger injectors.

Wanted to make sure i wasn't going to break anything (was pretty sure since i'm not pushing RPMs) or wasting time completely (like redoing everything when I dump in the new injectors. I know i have to put in new injector data and probably repeat MAF and VE tuning, but i'm sure it'll be easier once i do it this time.
I'm not even getting close to 5k rpms right now. Still doing idle and base VE tuning and histogram setups (i don't have a wideband.... yet) when i get 20 minutes here and there.
Appreciate the feedback
Jim
