detect protocol error Ls2 swapping my v6 G8, its at the point where its ready to start but tuning is the only thing left, i have a mpvi3 brand new and my hp laptop with all the necessary software for tuning. i was having a detect protocol when reading the vehicle, ecu was swapped since i am v8 swapping obviously, fusebox harness was also swapped but that one came from a ve commodore and i have to extend the harness with soldering, hooked everything up and started reading the vehicle and boom error, so i swapped the fusebox to the v8 one even though they are the same and same thing. swapped the bcm from v6 to v8 and same thing, pulled out my diagnostic scanner and it had a communication error even after changing the vehicle and erasing and everything, i have disconnected and reconnected things, also pulled a couple fuses being cigarette, eng ign, battery and all were fine
i am completely stuck and i have my buddy with a g8 that is doing the same thing as me helping over dms and we are both kind of stumped.
hopefully someone knows some solutions or possibilities on how to fix this, for now im going to go clean grounds, hook up my front harness which apparently doesn't need to be hooked up but there are grounds on that front harness and pull some more fuses

not famiiar with Gen IV wiring, but:
1. ensure OBD2 port is wired correctly (power/grounds)
2. ensure PCM power inputs are wired correctly, should have a couple of battery 12V circuits and 1 or more switched 12v circuits.
