Missing timing somewhere
Hello, have a question someone might be able to help me out with. Have a procharged 00 ws6. Added some timing up top and on a log I noticed I was missing half a degree vs commanded. Wtf? I then started to watch the rpm vs spark and it appears it’s missing half a degree from 4k up, now I do get a degree or two of false knock sometimes on shifts but even without any false knock showing up it still pulls that half degree every single time. I opened old logs and noticed it’s doing the same. I have burst knock 0’d out but I didn’t mess with the delta air. Is there anything else that can be pulling timing?
Look for tables that modify timing based on intake air temperature (IAT), engine coolant temperature (ECT), air/fuel ratio (ARF or EqR). For some of those, there will actually be two tables, one of which is a multiplier for the other table.
And since you've got forced induction, I'm guessing you've got a custom OS, which might have a table (or two) to modify timing based on manifold pressure.

Yes I am running hpt 2 bar. I’ve modified my IAT table already to pull for meth failure but monitored IAT temps are in the 50s with meth and well below what I have setup. I’ll double check ECT tables..if I messed with them those should be setup to pull during what I’d consider overheating, probably around 210+. Do these have an AFR timing modifier? I will definitely look for that. Do you know if that would that be somewhere in fueling or the spark tabs?
