Default P0327 after motor swap

Hey all! Hope you're well. It's been a while since I've posted. We bought my son a 2002 TA with a blown motor. We put together an LS6 in my garage, and finally got it up and running. Trying to get it to pass california emissions now, and can't set all monitors before P0327 sets.

We've gone through two OEM knock sensors, two duralast sensors (both ohmed out at 99.5-100.5k ohm), and new two harnesses. After setting the code again this evening after a 30 or so mile drive, my son and I went to work trying to diagnose. Two blue connector pins #11 and #51, we're getting 99.6k ohm to the battery negative terminal.

My concern - It never sets P0332, only P0327. This particular block had damaged bosses, one has a helicoil, one has a timesert installed. Am I somehow unlucky in providing a solid ground, and it is intermittent on the front (P0327) knock sensor, and setting the code?

If the above concern is the issue, I'll be forced to relocate them, and extend the harness to accommodate the sensor in their new location(s). If it weren't for CA smog, I'd just kill off the CEL with HPTuners and call it a day.

I've read a handful of other threads pertaining to pinched harnesses, to water in the sensor, to cheap knock offs. I'm really bummed we've wasted so much time putting this car together, just to be hung up on something so silly, that prevents us from registering the car!

I appreciate any insight you may have...

You’re absolutely right. The 67 is my car, and smog exempt. We’re working on my son’s 02 TA.

We’ll check the grounds again. Very odd to only set the one KS code, but never the other in this case.

You might be able to decrease the knock sensor sensitivity in the tune rather than kill off the code completely. Though I have no idea if the smog check could see that or scream about it if they did see it.

You're right about your car. I thought I'd deleted that post once I saw it was about your son's car. It's gone now....
Sorry 'bout that!

Gotta watch tune changes. They're checking bitsum numbers to verify any tampering.

Yeah, that’s another unknown, is it operating system CVN, engine calibration, etc. that they’re checking? OS doesn’t have a CVN for this VIN, but engine calibration does.

Another interesting thing I missed. The original code was p0327 (front). After swapping sensors and harness again, the one set last night was p0332 (rear).

I have a set of new (that test almost exactly 100k ohm) delco sensors, and am seriously considering the ICTBillet relocation kit and some harness extensions to rule out the coil/timeserts the sensors are installed into.

Update on this - We're going to install the ICT Billet relocation kit, but have them screwed into the passenger side head, and just passed California emissions.

Yeah man, I remember! We chatted in another post some time ago! We need to meet up one of these days.

Just left the DMV with tags. Kid is driving it for the first time on the highway. Pumped for him!
