Innova bi-directional scan tool..... Hi, guys. I just bought a Innova 5610 bi-directional scan tool. Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with Innova, good or bad. If it's not a good quality tool, I'll return it. Has good reviews on Amazon, but I trust forum guys .02 more than Amazon. Thanks, guys....

Bi-Directional scan: Very cool. Hook it up, and report back:
1) will INNOVA cycle the ABS Pump- for brake bleeding ?
2) can INNOVA comm with Body Control Module ?
3) Can it turn off AIRBAG Light and/ or find trouble codes (SES) ?
4) since it claims to be "Bi-Directional" can Innova reprogram VSS for tire diameter or GEARing changes?
5) Scope function should be able to display IAC counts, throttle position, injector duty while driving... What is LOG functionlike? can it save LOGs to SD card or other media ?

I've had my Innanova 3140 for nearly 20 years. I chose this model for both OBD I and OBD II compatibility and have used it multiple times a week since new with no issues. While not as complex as yours I'm sure it will wear as well with proper use and care.
For example I don't leave batteries in mine as they are only for keeping memory and I don't need that. It activates and operates off the vehicles voltage as soon as you plug into the OBD port.

No doubt this tool is above my current electronics/tuning abilities. I'm hoping it can operate the ABS pump motor, but I don't know for sure......

I've had an Innova 5160rs for several years now, I bought it for my late model daily drivers as my old AutoTap software doesn't work on anything newer than about 2004-ish.
It's a good scanner, durable and good quality, but it's missing certain pieces of data and the bi-directional features of a better unit. I should have bought a higher level model, but I needed it in a hurry and it was the highest end one I could find locally at the time. I'd buy that same brand again, but I'd definitely opt for a higher level unit with more features.
