Question 96 Saturn EGR - how does it work

Can someone explain how the EGR valve on a Saturn works? The valve sits on the exhaust manifold at the end. I thought the EGR would recycle the exhaust air back into the air intake under certain conditions, but there is no tube going to the air intake. This valve just sits on the mainfold and there are about 5 wires going to the valve body.

So how exactly is this working since it is different than what I have seen on other vehicles.

Thanks,
Gary

Default

It still does the same thing puts inert exhaust gas into the intake under cetain conditions. The valve on that car is a pulse width modulated valve with a position sensor all going to & controlled by the PCM.
