Default Will O2 extentions affect tuning????

I'am getting my car tuned next week after the Procharger is installed. The guy tuning the car told me that since I have the hooker long tube headers that require the usage of (O2 extentions), it may affect the tuning. I guess because the O2 sensors plug in further back in the hooker long tube header which would be cooler than the stock location. Will this actually make the tuning more difficult, or incosistent? He had recommended going with FLP long tube headers because they dont require O2 extentions.

Not at all.The placement of the 02's will make the car run alittle richer but easy to tune out.

That guy is correct.

Look at the prices of front O2 over the rear O2 and you find the rears are almost double in price.
That is because for the O2 to function correctly it has to be able to compare outside air to what the sensor of O2 is reading in the exhaust so the wires are very special in they have a air channel in the wires so rears are more costly since they require much longer special wires.

By using some extention you now have the orginal 02 connector sucking in hotter air under the car which in return causes O2 to report falsely.

Also depending on where the connector now is located and the quality of the connector the extention has water can hit them and as O2 heats up it acts a bit like a vaccum and will suck water into the air channel and totally plug up that reference outside air.
Also the more splices/connections there are the more resistance it adds to the circuit and being the O2 functions in mVolts the added splices can also effect the 450 mVolts PCM sends to the O2 and what the voltage return from O2 to PCM.

All this this will have a long term effect on the O2 and what it reports which effect the PCM calibration.

If you cannot use a header that properly places the front O2s close to heads then maybe use rear O2s in the front locations and any extra wire length do not just wrap up in a way that will crimp the wire and shut off that reference air.
