Default Best practices for open loop (with MAF) tuning

Hi guys,

What are the best practices for open loop tuning while using the MAF?

ie: injector scaling, LTRIM/STRIM settings etc etc

Is it best to dial in the LTRIMs and STRIMS as close to zero as possible first (with O2's functioning) then work on VE etc on the dyno with part throttle tuning?

I am running cats so I want it to be as optimal as possible. I am SICK of the part throttle hesitation from the O2 sensors.

Do I just unplug the O2s to get the car in open loop?

Thanks again

Chris

The part throttle hesitation most likely is caused by the Maf and not the o2 sensors. Last night i did a test for all my fbody buddies becaue i am the only one (i know of) that isnt running a maf. With the maf plugged up the car would load up, stink and wasnt responsive. As soon as i disconnected it no other changes were made the car cleared up trims were inline and the car was resposive to throttle changes. The maf seeme to be fighting all th other sensors dumping fuel when it isnt needed.

If you unplug the o2 the car wont learn via trims and you WILL need a WB to dial in the ve table.

That is interesting. I wanted to tune with the O2's and then disconnect them when done. hmmm maybe I'll just swap in the more emissions friendly cam sooner rather than later.

running a 236/242 110LSA 110ICL now

going to put in a 226/232 115LSA 115ICL

my 230/232 prolly wont pass emissions but it dioesnt surge load up or buck and the drivabilty is great.
