Default 93 octance tuning = perfecto

I've been tuning for my daily 87 octane gas ups and have gotten alot of "in need of tuning" LTFT's and knock retard. I have things pretty much under control. LT's vary from -2----> +2 and Knock is down to 3 in the upper rpm.

Well, this afternoon I went and gassed up with 93 octane. Went and did some tuning and all of my LTFT's for average are zeroed out EVERYWHERE! Even my highest point is 1, and lowest is -1.

Also, no knock retard what so ever.

Whats the deal with this?
Why is it working out so good?
Maybe now I'll bump up timing some more and squeeze out some more power.

Just thought I'd share.

Later,

Kyle

Do you have a wideband? If you dont then your ltrims are not accurate.

No, I don't have a wideband.

How off are l-trims usually? Or, how do you know they're not reading correctly?

Thanks.

Buy a wideband, without it there is no way of knowing. Here is a link on a GP that is about to go down.

If I understand your statement when you went to the 93 octane nothing changed? This should be correct as you are not changing anything to do with the A/F ratio. You are changing your knock resistance of your fuel. Going to your 93 octane has a higher flashpoint so you will not experience knock as quickly as 87 octane.

ohhh. thanks for the info.

on 87 i had fuel trims ranging from -3 too +3
after logging with 93, everything is 0's, even KR now, none at all.
sry, should of made myself more clear.

But your using the narrow band 02s. Tuning A/F ratio with stock O2s is like racing with your eyes close.
