Autotap

I wanted to purchase Autotap with a friend of mine and share it. Is it possible to copy the software and just remake a second cable somehow?
Any experience anybody?

The cable is very proprietary and no schematics are available. Not only would it be illegal to do, it wouldn't be cost effective.
