Default Reset a HPP3

I bought a used HPP3 and of course, the previous owner did not return the original vehicle to the stock tuning. So now, of course, I can't use it on my vehicle. I heard that there was a way to reset a HPP3 with a 9 volt battery (aka 9volt battery trick). Does anyone know how to do this or is there another way to reset the progremmer for use on more than one vehicle? Thanks for the info.

never heard of this... AFAIK the only way to unlock it is to send it back to Hypertech... and then only if you're the original owner and it's corrupted... best bet is to get in contact with whomever you bought it from and have them return their car to stock or refund your money...

Question

Get your money back. It will not work unless the first owner resets his PCM back to stock using that HPP3.

Good luck.
