how driveable would this cam be with 4.10 gears un-tuned?

If your car is a M6 you could get away with it for a while. The 4.10 gear will definitely help you in the low end were normally it will fall on it's face with stock gearing and stock tune. I ran a larger cam than that (T-Rex) with "Stock Gears" and "Stock Tune" for about a month before I installed 4.10 gear, HP Tuners, and a wideband. I drove in 1 hour 1/2 traffic one way to work some days and you just have to be able to be quick with the clutch if it starts to surge. I wouldn't try it with an A4.
