Default Tuning a cam...

I hope this isn't a dumb question...

I'm ordering my HPT on Friday and I was just wondering, I've heard lots of people talk about tuning a cam so that it idles more like stock... I love lope. Is there a way to tune a cam to get more lope (but not rpm hunting)?

Awesome

I'll try that as soon as it comes in the mail. Maybe it'll help my C1 sound bigger, hahaha

thanks for the help!

stock. Tuning software is on the way.

I guess it's around 800-900. You know how accurate the stock tachs are

Mine was about 560 at stock. My tach is real close at least when I am logging.

mine is typically slow and I think it's off by ~100 or so. I need to get an AM tach in there! I noticed it especially after the cam install when I could tag the rev limiter with the needle still sweeping past 5-5.5K

Don't the A4's have lower idles, though? I thought I heard that somewhere...

I can't wait to get this software and get started, my laptop's been sitting on my desk all week just waiting!

Yes, stock A4s idle at 550 when at op temp. I belive stock M6s are 850. I would not go any lower then 500. If you want lope just get a bigger cam. Trex lopes HARD at even 1000 rpm. At one time I was running 650 but now I like it best at 800.
