Car surgeing at idle!?!?!

Car surgeing at idle!?!?! SOmetimes at idle, my cars lights dim and the idle bounces from 600-1000 rpms.
my IAC sensor on the throttlebody is giveing out a reading of 0. I get air/fuel readings off every sensor but the IAC. The IAC isnt throwing any trouble codes though. Is it 'suppose' to read 0? I figured it was after i took it out and it idled real high so it apeard to be working. I 'heard' there was a reinstall process for this sensor, does anyone know it?
Has anyone had this happen and it not be the IAC?

my car does the same thing, 98 formula. i've only noticed mine doing it when the engine is cold, or when i first crank it. i'm no expert but i assumed it was something to do with the computer turning things on. but i know for sure its not the battery, i switch mine out and i still have the problem...unless it's a weak alternator, but i have check it...seems to be fine.
trey. i been having the same problem dude.. this is jp ur buddy by the way incase u didn't know.. mine started after i installed my converter, im guessing since u just swapped trans out and this started, maybe its something similar... i have no freakin clue, but ill be glad to discuss what ive found it "not" to be so far with u on aim as usual
