Anyone got their FlashScan yet?
2X A/D convertors and one cold junction compensated thermocouple input for accurate temperature logging.

To be fair I've only used the software for about six hours, but everything is very smooth so far (only one very minor error, which is being looked into and may be related to a known ID10T problem).

As someone who is still relatively new to tuning, the layout of the software is very important to me. The scanning parameters are (of course) totally customizable and adjustable, though I like the new layout of the "stock" dashboard. The thing that has impressed me the most so far, however, is the monitoring and display of the individual spark timing elements. Not only are you able to monitor the "scan spark", but you're able to individually see all of the elements making up the final spark such as the timing subtracted for warming the cats, the burst knock spark retard, the torque reduction protection retard, ECT & IAT spark, etc. all the way up to the total, corrected spark. I like the fact that they've kept the scan tool and the tune tool completely seperate, this makes things easier to keep track of. The software opens and operates very smoothly, even on my old 500MHz machine. The controls are just like previous versions, except even more intuitive. I hate not to say more about this software, but I believe I've expressed my satisfaction with the scanner many times in the past, and this one is even better.
As for the tuner, it runs just as smoothly and quickly as the scanner. Reading the PCM flash takes just under two minutes, and reflashing takes just under 30 seconds. The layout is simple and unintimidating. Everything you can click on or change has a small help or explanation box located in the lower left, which explains the changable item and the options that you may set it to. This is absolutely invaluable to a new tuner such as myself. So far I've only touched on simple things such as removing the A.I.R. and C.A.G.S., and very basic timing editing for my nitrous, but I'm having no problems so far. It might sound anticlimactic, but everything really easy to use so far.
I'll be trying out the black box data logging today and working out the LTFTs and fueling. More to come.
I downloaded my tune last night, 1 minute 30something seconds. I spent hours looking over everything, made a few changes, and reflashed this morning before leaving for work. The reflash took about 26 seconds. I just set up the PID's for the black box logging and will try that out on my way to get the car re-dyno'd.
I've been ready to purchase other tuning softwares on several occassions and each time I talked myself out of it to see what EFILives Flashscan would look like. Bang-for-my-buck, I'm glad I waited.
