To clear SES codes... or not to clear SES codes...
Here's my situation:
About a month ago, I had SLP long tubes installed. Since then, I kept throwing the following codes:
---------------------------------------
P1153 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) insufficient switching bank 2 sensor 1 (Front Bank)
P0155 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0137 O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0157 O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
---------------------------------------
Just the other day, I bought the Bosch #13111 O2 sensors to try them out. I think it's still to early to tell, but so far the only code that has popped back up is P1153.
I also have O2 simms for the rear that I haven't installed yet. I'm hoping with installing the simms, it'll get rid of any rear O2 DTC's all together.
But now onto my main question...
How does the PCM re-act to problems with the SES light on? Does it make up for certain problems by adjusting certain parameters? Is it better to clear your SES light immediately, or will leaving it on not hurt anything?
I know if a DTC code is "active"... depending on what it is... the PCM makes up for it by adjusting certain things. But if you clear this code, will the PCM think everything is OK again, and go back to running normal? Or is just clearing the SES light just that... clearing the light and not the actual DTC code in the PCM itself?
Sorry if I worded this kind of confusing... I'm not really sure how to explain it.
BTW... I check and clear my codes using the Predator.

You need to delete P0137 O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2), and P0157 O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2). If you only clear them, they will be back but will not affect performance. The others you mentioned need attention. They are indicating that both of your O2 sensors (the ones that A/F is calculated from) are not functioning correctly.

If you reset the pcm but don't delete the codes for O2's #2, the code will pop again and set the check engine light. B1S2 and B2S2 are there to monitor the cats. With no cats, you will get a code unless it is tuned out or you have O2 sims. Performance will not be affected by the back 2 O2 sensors. The forward ones (B1S1 and B2S1) do affect performance unless you are running open loop. If you continue to throw codes for them - you have a problem. Is that worded better?

Resetting the PCM consists disconnecting the negative battery terminal, right?
If you reset the PCM, do you lose any custom tuning?
