Default MAF less tuning question

I have started tuning without the MAF sensor like it says to on the HP Tuners forum. My question is when i plug the Mass back in will my A/F be relearned and require tuning again? I would like to plug it back in but am a little afraid to mess up my A/F. I also thought i heard about adjusting the MAF tables. What Also what kind of changes do you make to the table? thanks.

the purpose is to get your VE table inline via SD tuning whereby you only use the IAT sensor and MAP sensor... (get the LTFT table as close to 0 as you can or negative... ) Then you reconnect the MAF and scale the MAF table until the LTFTs are back inline w/what you had before

More power, better driveability sometimes.

Look around the first few pages of this forum. There are about eleventy-billion threads on SD tuning. Also, you might try the search feature. (Not trying to be an ***, but this has been discussed to death in the last 6 months.)

Less intake restriction=more power. You want every opening in your intake system to at least flow as well as your TB, which the MAF does not. What happens is, you get bottle-necked at the MAF, and the pressure in the intake manifold ends up being less than outside the MAF. So you end up with less volumetric efficiency at WOT.

You can get better driveability with a cammed car, and sometimes cars with other intake mods because the MAF is a PITA to tune.
