noob question
and i noticed it has an SLP MAF installed on it
. I've heard that this is kind of a foolish mod as the maf isn't restrictive before 600 hp or sumpthin. That AND you need to tune for it. So far i've just left it on and hoped that the car had been tuned for it, cuz i don't see how i have any way of knowing. But the other day my battery died
and i'm wondering if this causes the car to lose any tuning that'd been done to it. I've been told disconnecting the battery will force the computer to re-learn whats best for it and is good after certain mods. Help me out fellas, i'm kinda lost.
Regarding losing the tune... nope... it's probably not tuned for it, probably the resistor doing it... but the "tune" in the PCM isn't erased by lack of power, only way to erase it is w/a Tech 2 or some tuner software
When you disconnect the battery, the PCM relearns the fuel trims and spark learn (to determine if you can get full timing w/out knock) as well as clearing any SES codes... it also resets the readiness tests , but will have no ill effect... it will relearn w/driving
