redline shifting pcm problem
redline shifting pcm problem My car was running fine and shifting great.I changed the rear gears from 2.73 to 3.73.It was still driving good and shifting good.Then today I decided to just get my pcm adjusted for the change in gears .I had the shop change the gear ratio and thats it.Well now when I floor it it bounces off the redline rev limiter.I noticed it right after I left the shop, so I went back and told the tuner and we couldn't come up with any thing.We then decided to change the rev limiter from 6200 to 6450 and still the same thing.It just bounces off the rev limiter on every shift.
The new gears have you hitting 37% less mph at the same rpms.
The shift tables have to have their mph points dropped 37%.
There is a table for WOT shifting, and there is a table for various tps % too...
The one for tps goes all the way up to 100%. And there are some variations
on those tables too, for example a "hot" version of the table. Any of those
tables that has something other than all 0's or all 255's should be tweaked.

The shop who tuned my car said when he changed the gears with ls1edit it should have changed everything it was supposed to, to make everything work.I asked the tuner to change the shift rpms/mph down, and he said that would mess everything up.He also said that my speed sensor on the back of my tranny could be bad and my tranny could be slipping.Now I find both those things hard to believe since it was shifting like a champion w/ the just the gear change, and when he changed the gear ratio w/ ls1edit is when all this rev limiting on shifts started happening.I'm looking at buying Hp tuner soon would I beable to solve this on my own since my tuner doesn't appear to know what he is doing?
Yeah, I doubt it's the tranny. Like you said, it was working fine before.... 
I used hptuners to do mine, when I did the ls1 swap. My car had 3.42 gears in it, and the engine and pcm I swapped in was programmed for 2.73 gears. So I had to change up for the "new" gear ratio that the pcm was seeing.
