Default Ve table ?

I've read the sticky on v-e tables and most of it math wise I am very rusty with. I am using atap for a scanner and needed to know is it as simple as whatever the gm/sec(?) reads for a specific rpm to replace the values in the ve tables with the same??? I've done so and gas mileage/response seems to have improved. Also raising those values tend to lean the mixture?Since doing this my ltft have gone to positive should I be in the maf tables to correct and raising those values would it not richen the fuel?I know there are many ways to accomplish the same objective. Am I on the right path?
