Cant imagine you would need BS3 if you are still smogable... However I know smog laws are different state to state...

As far as the stock computer goes, yes it's primarily running the gauges only..

Keeping stock PCM for that as well. In MD, they just plug in and check. no sniffer on 98+ f-bodies.

I am setting up a 98 C5 corvette.....using the BS3.

I have eliminated the enigne harness to the stock PCM. I left the crank sensor lines intact...so I could tie them in if needed.

Was John Meaney able to change the software to half the pulses per revolution.....my corvette tach runs on 4 pulses per rev.....BS3 is 8 pulses per rev......so I will have the same problem.

Also .....what your telling me is the CAM sensor has nothing to do with the tach signal on the stock PCM to the gauge???

There is a on going debate on the LS2 section of this forum...

Please reply........Can some light and maybe pictures be shed on the Gas Pedal modification for the Cable TB...........

Help is greatly appreciated....

the bs3 website has an ls1 file on it.. and i believe that when you buy the bs3 it comes with an ls1 file that should start the engine.

i did the crank synchronize and i reccomend you do. mine was off 4 degrees from the 360 that bs3 starts at. you need a pointer, a piston stop, and a way to measure (degrees on a balancer etc.)

Hooked up the signal wire from the crank sensor to computer. Tach still does not read. I am able to see the RPMs through the predator scanner so I know the computer is getting a signal. Why isn't my tach guage working? Thats the only think right not thats not working.

check your cluster fuse? does everything else work still, like oil press, water temp etc.?

its hard to say sitting here when i wasnt there to see what all you cut out or undid from the factory harness.. and also what is different from a 98 car

if the scanner can read the rpm's then i have to say something else is unhooked with the dash

The rest of the guage cluster is working and reading right. I'm pretty sure All I cut back were sensor wires to the computer. But I never touched anything to do withthe dash. What are the low reference wires for? I also have acouple of pink wires that are not connected. I thought those were just power for a sensor.

well you have to be on the right pin out from the bs3 box for the scanner to show rpm.
