Engine Revs between shifts

Question Engine Revs between shifts

When shift from park, reverse to drive the motor revs to around 1400 rpms then comes back down. Annoying as hell. Anyone have an idea to help stop this.

No idea what's causing the problem but sounds alot like my problem even though I have a stick. On the way home today developed a fast idle condition. Was driving moderate rush hour traffic on 270 NB some stop & go. Car started idling at about 1500 & after a few miles was upto 2200. Did 2200 the last few miles home, steady 30-50 speeds no hard driving. I let it idle for about 90 seconds at 2200 in the driveway to see if it would come down & checked the TB to be sure it was closing. Turned it off & restarted a minute later & it idled at 1000 like it's supposed to. WTF? Before, it would occasionally idle at 1500 for a few seconds usually at the end of a freeway off ramp where there was a stop sign or light. It's never just flat out idled fast like this. Any ideas??

You guys have your idle airflow set too high...What tuning software are you using?

HP Tuners, TB is not drilled, why would too high airflow make it do it only occasionally?

airflow shouldnt be high, no higher then stock on Marks car unless somone else was in there

My plan tomorrow is to check for vacuum leaks, retorque the intake bolts, general induction inspection. Assuming nothing wrong there then it seems the driving conditions may have caused the issue so could it be a software thing?

LS1-Edit tried going back and reloading last edit, (when it didn't do it). But to no avail, still does it. TB is drilled but never did this before and it idles great. Just have cruize control effect still. Idles fine in gear after I come to a complete stop and in park no problems. I still need to get IAC's down and LTrims also. But never had the reving thing before, it's weird just between park, reverse to drive. Not so much the other way but a little.

Never did get the hang of editing, even worse now i have forgotten every thing I thoght I had learned

Haven't been driving car much been restoring it, but my friggin Ford truck broke a con rod so I'm having to drive car again till fixed.
