Default will splicing the cranl position sensor wire affect its performance??

An guy i know took his ss to some jack leg to rebuild the engine and when they pulled the engine they just cut a few of the wires instead of unpluging them not real sure of this logic but anyways if the wires are spliced back together it will change the resistance somewhat. does the crank postion sensor work off of voltage or resistance and will splicing this adversely affect it any

If repaired correctly, as in solder and heat shrink, it will be fine. In fact you can splice almost any sensor wiring if done correctly without any bad effects.
