Default Do I NEED to wait for HPT 2.0?

What will I really be missing if I go ahead and buy 1.6? My car is not a major power house or anything. I think I am going to go ahead and get 1.6 for my car and a friend's 2000 T/A. I will need a serial to USB adapter, but they seem to work pretty well.
Can anyone tell me why I should wait??

nope, the upload/download speed isn't limited by the adapter, it's limited by how fast the PCM can shove the data onto the OBDII bus...

If you order now you will still get 2.0 and all 2.x updates as they are released and they'll work w/the current cable.

Only advantages of the new cable AFAIK are that it will support the LS2 CAN network and it'll be usb

I see. Thanks. I didn't know if the upgrades would carry a cost or not. The cable is not a concern for me at this time.

if i would have waited a little longer i might have been able to get 2.0 now i will have to pay to get 2.0 upgrade, so maybe if you wait a little longer youll get 3.0, if they release it 6 months later (wether or not 3.0 will be done ever)

from what i understand they are trying to make one major release a year ie 1.0, 2.0, 3.0...figure 1.x came out early last year...2.0 is due to come out soon...i wouldnt expect 3.0 to come out for at least another year...but anything from version like 1.4 was better then anything out there at the time...1.6 friggin rules though efilive owners might disagree...2.0 i dont think will disappoint anyone as at this point its icing on the cake IMHO.
