Hmm. Mine is always kicking in, just about evey time I coast in OD above 40mph.

Yes it should. That is what it is there for. It is mostly a fuel saving "feature".

Using the stock tune, it isn't a fuel saving feature, it's more of a save the brakes feature than anything. If it was a fuel saving feature, it would be easy to make happen. It doesn't seem like making your engine run extremely lean would be all that great for the cats. I'm well aware that the settings can be changed with any tuner to make it come on under different conditions. I was just stating how a stock car acts when DFCO kicks in. It is interesting using it as a tuning aid.

I just don't understand how come none of the pros join in on these meaningful threads. They only seem to respond to threads like "should I port my MAF", that has already been answered 50 different ways on 10,000+ occassions.

I agree. But if it is oversimplified people that may have been itimidated by tuning may grow the confidence to try. Kinda like a one way street information travels in one direction not the other

Oh and I should add a third case

3. They just dont know. They lurk and wait for AU and company to post thier findings

Haha....I'll have to agree. I know I've been starting to lurk on the PCM section, tryin to learn to tune better and if anything I'd love to see the pro's jump in a little more here and there. Those that already dumped the grand plus on tuning gear aren't going to pay someone to tune their car......

With that said....keep up the convo. Interesting stuff guys

How many of the "pros" use the repository to cut and paste into their cutomer's cars?

On topic: DFCO saves fuel. The question is what motivated GM to incorporate DFCO?

I turned off DFCO several months ago 'cause the backfiring was getting too much attention of the streets. But I really miss the engine braking part of it. Can't wait 'till someon investigates and posts up.

Well I am going to make a run later. At least to see how the car drives today...I don't know if I will get any logging in...it annoys my wife when she rides with me...
