Default disconnecting the battery

I went to the track yesterday and I noticed that if I didn't disconnect my battery before each pass that my car would run slower.I've done the throttle body bypass,K&N CAI,3200 vig converter, transgo shift kit and nitto 275/40/17s. Stock tune. Could someone try to explain to me what is happening and what i need to do to my car? Thanks

what do you mean by "run slower" how did you know it was running slower and not just driver error?? or just in your head???
all disconnecting the battery will do is let the alternator only provide power for th ecar and not have tro charge the battery.... possibel you have a battery going bad...or you have a bad alternator...not able to keep up with the electrical requirements of your car at the track and charge the battery at the same time...

No, my charging system is fine.Heres an example:I get to the trackand run a 14.0@96.4 mph with a 1.962 60' then I make another pass and run a 14.1@96.2 mph with a 1.950 60'. Ok so I let it cool and disconnect the battery. Then I make another pass and run a 13.59 @100.96 mph with a 1.968 60'.
I also did the battery disconnect between hot laps sometimes and it always made my car faster.no disconnect with cooldown time =slower.

my best "guess" is that when the battery is connected...the Alternator is splitting up the charge between the battery and the car systems....
when you disconnect the battery you get more to the car systems...meaning a better spark possibly.... more amperage to the coils....
there is also an injector flow rate/voltage..and a fuel pressure modifier/voltage
either of those might be effecting the "performance" of the vehicle....
it might only be a minute difference in voltage...maybe not even a half a volt....or less even....but every little bit helps...

possibly relating to something in your car...and better performance for you...
maybe the next big trick at the track???

I know pro level guys run with no battery...mostly for weight...but also because its completely unnecessary after you get the thing running..possibel voltage benefits

Are you disconnecting it and then reconnecting it?

Or leaving it unhooked while you make your pass?
