aftermarket computer + emissions?

aftermarket computer + emissions? wouldn't this work?
ALL of my gauges are AutoMeter gauges (only the tach has ANYTHING to do with the computer....)....
IF:
- I were to get something like the BS3 and run the engine (I have an M6 car) 100% off the BS3.....
- remove ALL engine wires from the stock computer except the crank sensor, cam sensor, and TPS so the computer can read and go through it's "drive cycles"....
- remove ALL codes from the stock computer (LS1Edit/HPTuner) so there are NO codes to pop up...
so in otherwords I would have the stock computer only sitting there for the OBD2 code test......would that work?
