hanging hot start idle + ls1edit question

hanging hot start idle + ls1edit question lately on hot starts, car wants to idle at a surging 1500-1700rpm in park and 1100 or so in gear, it noticeably coasts while driving when off the gas too. i can drive to work and back without the issue cropping up so im thinking its tune not mechanical related.
mods are s1 ls6 heads, tr224, fast 90/90 with all the tweaks taken care of, hooker lt's, pt4200 etc etc. this is JS's old car if anyone is familiar with it so the car has been tuned properly.
also, i have a copy of ls1edit from my old 98 a4 t/a that i never used, can i just run it on this car or will it not work with a different year?
