Default Does anyones idle go to crap in the heat?

It seems like my car hates to idle now in the heat(90+). The Rpms come down like normal never seem to catch at idle and want to drop really low.

In Buffalo we've been hitting 90+ and my cars been idling about normal for what i'm used too... but i dont drive it in the winter...so its normal for summer/spring months

do you have any kind of aftermarkter thermostat with some kind of tuning? When i had my hypertech III w/ 160 thermo the fans came on almost right away and that had a slight effect...

The hotter the ETC the lower the running air flow table gets. Try bumping the table up a bit. Also, high intake air temps lower timing in its stock setting, perhaps thoes two tables combined are making it run like crap. I've seen IAT's at idle in the 140's on 100* days

On another note this hot weather is really getting on my nerves, in the last month or two i've not had a track day where the temps were below 90* at gates open.

my logg'd air temps for the last couple of days have been 108-132IAT's. Idle has sucked, but the girlfriend wanted the ac on instead of the windows down

you car will also pull timing out for higher ect and iat temps, might wanna check those tables and make srue your airflow is inline. i can leave my car sitting still with intake temps around 130 and the car runs smooth, like it always has

My idle sucks on 90+ degree days, especially with the a/c on. Then on a 75 degree day, its idles so smooth and drivability is great, a/c or not.

My biggest problem is that Ill be driving around in the 90+ heat, then Ill pull into the parking garage at work. The combination of cooler air in the shade coupled with brakes and power steering use makes the car bog whenever I have to come to a stop inside the parking garage. Watching my logs, my STITs jump from 0 to .18+ Lbs when i drive into the garage. Im not sure why this happens. Is there a table for garage / shade airflow? But is this inline with what youre experiencing in the heat? Or is it driving around in general thats giving you grief?

Yeah, mine's been doin that a little bit lately in the nasty heat too once it gets up to running temps and been drivin around for a little! It'll drop too like 500 rpm and sound like it wants to die, and I have to throw it in neutral and rev it up and hold it up a bit, my cam should not idle at 500 rpm, just not a good thing, hehe!!! I usually just pull over and open up the idle air screw a little to let some more air in and then she idles fine again.

Edit the IAT timing tables and that should solve a lot of the poor idle problems, depending on temps i've seen as much as 8* pulled

By edit, you mean to cut the timing pulled by maybe half? so it might pull 4 instead of 8?
