Question about handheld prgrammers All, I bought my 99 Ram Air about two months ago. I spoke to the previous owner a few weeks ago and he told me that the owner before him put a "chip" in the car but he was not sure what brand it was or how much difference it made. Can you put a chip in the fourth gen F-Bodies?
Anyway, I want to buy a Crane programmer and add a few minor mods. If I am unable to find out what "chip" the car has, what can I do?

I got an SLP Predator, and you can see the results I got on the dyno comparison attached. I think it's clear that it's well worth the cost.

remember that's rwhp, so it'd be about (1.16 x 335) 389 fwhp. You can see from my signature that I have just about everything in the SLP 400 HP Performance Pack, except the 1.8 ratio rockers. You can do it a piece at a time like I did, though...
it depends on the handheld and if it requires a stock file and makes changes to the stock file, or if it provides a full stock file to put into the pcm.
Most of them probaly modify the stock file, so this could run into a problem.
