My security light just came on today when I was driving the car. What does this mean? I thought it was for my factory alarm but it has never came on before.

mine too today. I have had it lock me out of starting it but wate few min. and then it starts fine but today the security light came on while driving. did not seam to hurt anything though????????????? what should I do.

 

The security light means that the system that reads the computer chip in the key is not working properly. It won't hurt the car or help it, but now you have the freedom of making keys at lowes, because the chip reader doesnt work.

 

i had my security light come on today! Car starts fine,, i tried my spare iginition key light still stays on steady? Should i be concerned?
