HP Tuners Problem
I just bought HP Tuners, and had to get the Serial to USB adaptor cord. It is a Dynex cable, from Best Buy. I know not to use a Belkin, but never heard anything bad about these. when i try to run the program, it says unable to connect to cable. let me know what i should do. thanks.

Check the cig lighter fuse. It powers the ALDL connector. If is OK, it is probably the adapter you are using. This one seems to give the least trouble. http://www.keyspan.com/products/usb/USA19HS/

I have this cable and it works fine for me. When you turn on the computer try putting the usb in AFTER you have the program up. USB can be real wierd sometimes. Also make sure that you let the car sit in the "on" position for 10-15 seconds.

also for the USB adapter... it'll assign a "virtual" serial port... make sure it's 4 or less (software should let you change it) (and make sure it's a port not already in use... port 3 or 4 would prolly work)

keyspan has worked great for me. It sometimes doesnt want to read the usb without the computer hooked up to the cig port but that is rare and really not that bad..
anyone of these suggestions will work out for you........try the keyspan, really the best thing you can do to get started....
good luck!!
