Default Adjusting timing after ve table

My VE table tuning is done! Finally, now going to do MAF then WOT tuning. I was wonderring if adjusting my timing right now, before doing my MAF and WOT, would throw off my VE table? Also how exactly can you adjust tyour timing while at idle in HPT? I know its in the VCM Control but whaich do I use under the Spark Tab? Absolute? Normal,.........!!

Thanks

Dave

yes it will throw off your ve table so adjust your timing and retune the ve. idle timing can be adjusted at spark advance>in park/in drive, right under the high and low octane tables

I'm sorry. I guess what I meant is how do you adjust it in realtime? With the car idling! I'm trying to see what timing is going to be better for me. I read on here some where about its under VCM Controls->Fuel&Spark but then which do I use? There is Spark Control & Spark Idle Control. Then of course under Spark Control there is absolute, plus and minus. Under Spark Idle Control there is bypass and normal. I dont know which to use.

Wow, that didn't occur to me but now makes sense.

All the tuning docs say VE first, then PE and timing. But none say the timing may throw off your VE and you'll need to tweak it.

However when you change timing you do change fueling requirements....

LS1PWR, I'd like to know too because I read a post from WS6FirebirdTA00 about the same thing and had the same problem you did; bypass or normal? Either one didn't change the timing.

I will have to double check, but if I recall correctly I used Absolute Timing in the VCM controls.

for idle i set the addition up by however many deg i wanted to test, then subtracted some. you can also bypass timing corrections to see if they may be off some. but to just adjust idle timing just use the one wher eyou can add and subtract. on fuel and spark is not the first one on the right but the next 2

spark control is the overpseed and underspeed tables, bypass will disable this. i have been tinkering with that and adaptive idle time delay and my last 2 logs max to min rpm change was down to 100 from 130, getting better (knock on wood)
