LS1 Edit ?

LS1 Edit ? Hi, I am new here.
I was thinking about purchasing Ls1 Edit and read I need a scanner for the program. I have a actron obd II scanner and was wondering if it would work well for Ls1 Edit.
I realize EFI Live and HPTuners is beter but I am on a limited budget and my car being a 98 i dont want Hypertech.

HP Tuners without EIO isn't much more than edit.... Especially if you can get ha buddy to go in w/you..... (since it comes w/TWO licesnes)
and if what you have is this:

then no... you can't use it for scanning... it's a Code Reader... that's it
in your situation I would look more at HP Tuners... LS1 Edit is PCM locked and not much less (50 bux last I checked?) than HP Tuners... and HPT gives you a scanner, 2 licenses, and the ability to tune AS MANY cars of those licenses as you want (LS1 Edit gives you 1 license that's locked to your PCM... so it has no resale value basically)

The scanner provided by Carputing is junk. I had it and is completely worthless. I ended up trading in my LS1 Edit Cable for the HP Tuners. It is worth the extra expense and tuning is much easier with their software.

I am just about to do the same, trade up from LS1 edit to HP tuners. There package is actually supported and emails are answered. Don't waste your time on LS1 edit.
LS1 Scan is useful, but pretty pathetic compared to other packages.
