Default Please Help! DTC P1416 (AIR)

I cranked up my SS this morning after 9 days (I travel a lot in my job) and noticed a high idle. After reading my ScanMaster I quickly saw DTC P1416 Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System Bank 2. I've had this car since I ordered it back in March of '98 and I have never touched the AIR System or EGR and all connections are tight. Car has 15,300 miles on it. I'll admit, I really don't fully understand the Circuit Description or Conditions layed out in my Helms Manual.

Has anyone ever experienced this before? How in the world would I go about making the repair? Your help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Most likely a bad/clogged passenger side air check valve, easy fix and about $15??? at the parts store. Search this forum for "P1416" there are several threads...had to replace mine. Oh, and it won't hurt to drive the car until you have a chance to replace it.

P1415 and P1416 just means left and right check valve. Like the other post said an easy fix. But change them both. If one went south the other is soon to follow. I had the same thing. I saved the old ones, bad one was stuck shut. I set them on the work bench and put some oil in them. Checked a week later and they are like new again so I keep them for spares for the next time.
