Default msd box and tac

anyone have any problems hooking up a tac and a msd rpm box...just did one and the rpms on the tac (autometer) and the rpm box dont match the stock one. Not even near eachother. Stock one reads 800-900 autometer and msd box read 300-400

Default My experience

It seems our LS1's put out a 4 cylinder tach signal. set the MSD box to the 4cyl setting and like on my autometer tach, you have to snip the 2 small looped wires in half to get the tach to read as a 4 cylinder vehicle. Your RPM's should match then

could be hooked up off the wrong wire. Mine is fine that way. I have a 98 and I know the pin outs are slightly different on my pcm so maybe thats it.
