Default Tuning Help

If vehicle was previously tuned with LS1 Edit by an independant race shop, and new software is HP Tuners, should I reload my stock 98 file and start from scratch or do the majority of tuners out there just run with what they have??? If it matters, I was never happy with with the LS1 edit tune...

save a copy of your current tune and go from there. Really up to you how you want to tackle it.

i like to start from scratch, for two reasons:
1. i know what's there stock, and i know what needs adjusting
2. old tuners learned on LS1Edit and refuse to give up their IFR tweaking habits. thus, it is usually wrong.
the more convoluted it is, the more time you will save by starting from scratch. unless you've never done it before, in which case, i recommend starting from scratch for educational puposes

I always start with a fresh tech 2 reflash before working on a tune.

It kinda sucks the current tuning solutions you have no idea what the values are vs what the factory value was. I am spoiled with that from tuning other vehicle types.
