Default Will I get by without a tune???

I have pacesetter LT headers, tsp catted y pipe, 75 dry shot, and 3.73 gears. Do i really need a tune??? I got an estimate of $550 which is really high in price for me. I have the HPP3, i can use that to change the gear ration, but will I be ok with the other things???? THanks

A tune would be benefical with your mods. The Headers are jacking the AFR at little and it needs to be right especially with a 75 shot. At $550, you could buy HP Tuners and learn to tune it yourself. There is a wealth of knowledge here to guide you along the way. Plus, you get 2 licences with HP Tuners and you could go half with someone locally to make it even more cost effective. EFILive Flashscan would be another option as well. I have seen some tunes form the pro's and some are a complete joke.

My 98 TA picked up 20rwhp with a very quick tune, just commanding a sensible airfuel ratio, not the 10.8 that was being commanded from the factory once COT kicked in.

So a tune for the headers and 75 shot would be the wise thing to do, i should see how much cheaper that would be. Thats a good idea though to find someone local to go half and half with too.....decisions, decisions
