Default Torque converter tuning?

Does the installation of a torque converter automatically require a tune to alter shift points or is it ok to drive it for a while to determine if the tune is required? Will be installing a torque converter that it 1000 to 1200 RPM above stock 2.0 STR. Currently, the car is well tuned & making good power. Reason for aftermarket torque converter is that the stock converter is just too soggy if you know what I mean. So, must re-tune or wait & see? Thank-you in advance.

you might have stalling problems. you'll need to bump your idle RPM up 50-100RPM.

My converter's did not have any stalling problems but, you might need to adjust the shift points and firmness.
