power programmer?
Read this thread I started a couple days ago. I really like the Hypertech.
If you have an auto it's nice for shift point changes but that's it.. I wouldn't buy one new..
If you must have a handheld then the Crane/Vinci and Diablosport Predator units are much better choices

I had LS1 Edit for my '00 car because it needed in-depth tuning to make the most of my setup, but since my '98 is a minor bolt-on only car, I just didn't see a need to spend the money on expensive tuning software just to change shift points and fan settings. You can get a used HPP pretty cheap (~$150). Granted, there are some better hand-held tuners out there than hypertech, but not for '98s. As far as I know, if you have a '98 your only tuning options are either the HPP or getting software for custom tuning.
