Remote Entry
Remote Entry I just got a new remote for my car liek the lock,unlock and trunk button. Its a 2000 trans am i was wondering if someone could tell me how to program it to my car i cant find it anywhere online.??
There's a few posts about it. Search for programming the remote. I just did this a week ago. If you have more than one, you have to do them both in the same session, or only the one will work when you're done if you only program one.
While the car is off, take out the radio fuse (17). Cycle the key on and off 3 times within 5 seconds, leaving it on the 3rd time. The locks should lock and unlock and the hatch should unlatch, indicating you're in programming mode. Take one remote, hold down the lock and unlock buttons at the same time, for about 15 seconds. The locks should all cycle again. Now do the 2nd remote. Turn off key, put fuse back in, and you're done.
