How much power can be expected from the hypertech programmer? Some guy is trying to say something like 50 to the wheels....just wondering...

Nothing except for problems, and of course, everyone would laugh.

now he is saying that its not the hypertech programmer that gives that much power to the wheels but an actual ecu that swaps in and gives that to wheels...and he says its made by hypertech....anyone know about this ?

The words Hypertech and horsepower gains just don't go together. It's almost like an oxy moron. The only Hypertech product I'll use is their thermostats.

i almost bought a hypertech then i did some reviews so i did a dyno tune with a ls1 edit and with someone who knows how to tune. I made 12 hp and 17 lbs of tourque at the rear wheels. So there is no way that it makes 50 hp to the wheels. Now one of my friends has Hptuners and i just use that now.

I have a 2000 you can buy off me for $25... they're worthless... dam near did my LS1 in for good... so much detonation that my spark plugs were covered with aluminum. It'll only cause problems. Save your money for a real tune by a professional on a dyno.

They are worthless, just spend a little more and get a custom tune.

Peace,
Craig.

Yeah I was never interested in it myself as I pretty much knew how they were....I just needed a lot of people to let him know by posting on here. And now he is silent ....I told him to go ahead and that programmer if he wanted too, but I wanted him to dyno before it and afterwards so we could see how big of a waste it really was....thanks everyone
