this is the first tune up i do on my SS and i dont know what to buy.
what kind of cables and spark pluggs would yall suggest. would yall suggest things from auto zone or oreilly? or should i go to mti and buy stuff from there? i also need the rotor cap and the distributor, and the fuel filter. i need a complete tune up. my car takes a while to start when i turn the ignition and my old man said he's seen black smoke come out my pipes. i dont race my car a lot its my daily driver but i race once in a while on the streets or on the freeway so i dont need some super expensive high perfromance ****. thanks for the help in advance...

 

Spark Plugs - NGK TR55's - gapped at .055 - O'Reilly
Plug Wires - depending on what you want - MSD & Taylor seem to be favorites here
Fuel filter
Seafoam can (NOT Aerosal) - put in gas tank to clean crap out of it

Last time I checked the LS1 did not have a rotor, cap, nor a distributor.
