Running open header / closed loop
Running open header / closed loop Will the car be able to run normally in closed loop with a dumped header? It seems to me that the o2 sensors are probably way too close to open air for it to work properly. Pictures of my headers:
I wouldnt run like that indefinately. You need to put atleast an extra foot of pipe to keep outside oxygen from screwing up your readings. If youre asking if its okay for a short while like on your way to the exhaust shop, youll be okay.
I agree with adding extensions to the headers. That's a must. Expect a very long warm up time for your O2 sensors though. Because of this, your VE tables and open loop fueling table better be very good too.
