Default how to add fuel?

I raised the numbers on my ve table but it don't seem to do much to my afr. I have a lc-1 and it says my afr is 16 t0 1 ish. When I add fuel with the bidirectional the motor likes it and the afr drops but the it gets really rich at low rpm. I'm working on a 99 trans-am the I just put a 402 w/stage 3 patriots and a 224 cam. What am I missing or should be doing?

Are you trying to tune the VE table in SD mode? Do you still have the secondary VE table?

Are you tuning WOT? If so then you have to adjust your PE.

Try to tune it everywhere. Gets kr at part throttle because of lean condition, would really like to make that go away. I'll try the pe at wot.

So, your tuning a 402? There are many things you need to change and adjust for a 402.

Best advice is to do a lot of reading and make small changes....

well I had it idleing and driveing o.k. it just seems to need more fuel to get the afr down and get rid of some knock. The ve table does'nt seem to have much afect on afr, so I was wondering what else i need to look at to get some fuel in this thing. I've read so much my brain hurts and I can't come up with any answers. Everyone wants to run in sd. I don't think takind a pcm desinged to run with a maf and making it run sd is a good thing.

I used to think that until I tuned my VE table in SD mode, it really does run pretty good that way.

Your best bet it to get the VE table close in SD mode and switch back to MAF closed loop. Just make sure your injectors are scaled correctly.

To start your SD tuning process do this:

- Set warm idle to 950
- Scale your injectors to what it should be
- Change your engine size (your VE table will change too)
- Lower VE table column 400 by 60% column 800 by 75% & column 1200 by 85%
- Add 25% to your IAC table

There are far more things to set up but read some help files on here to get you there, it's really not that hard. I put it off for some time and just did it.

I'm assuming you are using HP Tuners with the EIO....

I'm using efilive. How does the ve table work? Don't you just make the numbers bigger to get more fuel?

Just wondering, are your injectors big enough to keep up with the amount of fuel you're demanding? What's your injector duty cycle running at?

When you are in SD the pcm works off the secondary ve table, so make sure you are making changes to the secondary ve table.
