can a .bin from another year be used?

can a .bin from another year be used? i am a newb so i was wondering. i am trying to find a .bin for my car to load and if i could use other years then it would be a lot easier to find one.

Keep in mind it is NOT a good idea to just take someone elses bin and load it into your PCM generally... at least for files on the .bin repository... they're for learning only... to see what others have changed.... There's no guarantees they will work on any car other than the one they were tuned for (and there's no guarantee that the tune is any good)
I would recommend using other year .bins to see what changed (but keep in mind an 01 bin w/stock injectors will have different settings than an 00 bin with stock injectors... there are differences between the years) ... use that to help teach yourself what you should be changing , and why...
